  1. While English is the official language of Canada, many other cities in Canada speak French.                                          a

  2. Canada has 13 large areas of land (10 Provinces and 3 Territories) and each city in Canada belongs to one of these 13 areas of land.  The city of Vancouver is part of the Province of British Columbia.                                                                                                       

  3. Vancouver has had different names in the past but it was finally decided it should be named after Captain George Vancouver.                                                                                               

  4. Canada Day is the National Day of Canada and it is celebrated on July 1.                                                                                                                     

  5. Some of the famous sites to visit while in Vancouver are:
    - Stanley Park
    - The Vancouver Aquarium
    - The Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
    - Granville Island
    - Gastown and the Steam Clock
    - Grouse Mountain for skiing.  If you have time for a  day trip, consider going to Whistler Mountain for skiing also.
     

  6. In 1886 there was a huge fire that destroyed most of Vancouver.         
     

  7. The flag of Canada has two colors on it: red and white.
     

  8. Stanley Park is bigger than Central Park in New York City.
     

  9. Kitsilano Pool is a saltwater pool in Vancouver and it's the largest pool in Canada.                                                                        

  10. Many people think the Vancouver Aquarium is one of the top five (5) in the entire world!
